At a recent company event, my mentor Randy Gage reviewed the qualities of a great Network Marketer. I was so proud to be a part his great team and vowed to implement these qualities in myself and throughout my team! I took away so many crucial techniques to building a successful network marketing business, but I decided to start here!
As we know, Great Network Marketers are Leaders. They are people others want to follow. They set the example. They do as they say. Get the point?
There are 7 qualities that define a real network marketing leader. As you read them, really pay attention as to whether or not you practice these qualities. It’s o.k. if you don’t yet, but learn them and implement immediately. They come from an industry legend, and those are the people we need to pay attention to! I guarantee he possesses these qualities and implements ALL. Here they are:
1. Feed Your Dream Daily – have a dream board, vision board, prosperity board, call it what you may, but have pictures of those goals you are working towards. Things you want, places you want to go, people you want to help, promotions you are working towards in your company, achievements you wish to earnyou get the point. Whatever your ‘Why’ is, whatever your passion is, have it on your board. Keep it in your bathroom so you look at it every morning and every night before bed. It’s the first thing you see when you wake up and the last thing you see when you go to bed. If this sounds a little corny to you, well then, honey, don’t read any further because I will tell you, you’re not a leader. Leaders self-develop, leaders learn about success and the pathway to success. EVERY single book, CD, video, heck, every successful person on Earth will tell you, they had their goals in front of them everyday. If you refuse to do this, go back to your job and start working really hard for a raise because that is your destiny.
Quality #2 – A Wide Organization is a Solid Organization – Why? The fact of the matter is building wide allows us to sort through our team to find the all-stars. You will find that as you personally sponsor team members, you will have those to talk a big game and end up doing nothing. Or, they find EVERY single thing to complain about. Or, they will search to find why this won’t work. In between those, there will be those all-stars. They don’t need a lot of guidance. They plug into trainings, events and seminars and implement what is learned. They call when they have legitimate questions and to give good news, but then they are off! Our job is to build wide to sort out our all-stars!
3. Tap Root Your Depth – After you find a few GEMS, you then start to tap root into their organization. You will help them identify their leaders and weed out the talkers. You will teach your GEMS to identify, nurture and develop by actively coaching your GEM to do exactly what you are doing with them. You will have an unbelievably healthy organization when you are teaching your GEMS to teach their GEMS to teach their GEMS. This is why your compensation plan is critical! Your comp plan MUST promote the right activity, which is to train and coach deep into your organization and in return, the company pays you MULTIPLE levels deep!! Quality #4: Be Available in Prime Time – Prime time ( 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.) is the golden hours for network marketers. This is the time when people are at home. They can be reached. This is the best time for follow up calls, business overviews and prospecting calls. If you are saying, ‘there is no way,’ well then, stick to the job because you’re stuck in the ‘employee mentality.’ You’re stuck thinking that work is done between 9 and 5 Monday through Friday. Entrepreneurs work all hours to find their success. Think about this: Do you think Warren Buffet, Bill Gates or Oprah built their empires Monday through Friday from 9 – 5. Duh, right? What makes us think a successful network marketing business can be built in those same hours?
Quality #5: Be a Winner Not a Loser – In order to be a winner, we must follow the winners. That said, we need to run like the wind from the losers. Mom always said that ‘you become who you hang out with.’ Surround yourself with broke, negative people, then become one yourself. Surround yourself with millionaires, positive people and productive entrepreneurs, and you will become one! Surround yourself with people who are better than you! This is the very reason I searched out my upline in my company. I searched out a legendary network marketer who has made millions in this profession. I didn’t care about the product, I wanted the mentor! It makes ALL the difference!
Quality #6: When You Feel Fear, Profess Faith – Fear is a seriously unfortunate thing in our profession. It cripples people from achieving great things, when all it is is ‘False Evidence Appearing Real.’ It’s fake, it’s not real, its simply our subconscious manifesting emotional barriers that give you unrealistic feedback. When this feeling creeps up, have faith in yourself, have faith in your abilities, have faith in your skills!
Quality #7: Sew the Dream – Keeping the dreams in front of your team is critical to your team’s success. Our team members can have their dream boards, but it takes one rejection during that day for that team member to forget their dreams. We need to continually sew the dreams and keep them in front of our people. We need to support our teams during the roller coaster of emotions they will experience in this profession. When you help others sew their dreams, what happens? You guessed it, your dream is sewn as well! That is the beauty of this great profession! I love it!!
There they are. The 7 steps to becoming a Great Network Marketer! Without following this blueprint, our teams will not grow productively. Randy Gage is a network marketing genius. When he speaks, we should listen…and implement. Keep these 7 steps in front of you. Nurture these steps to grow a culture within your organization. With that, I will leave you with one final thought Randy shared, ‘I will do today what others won’t so I can have tomorrow what others can’t!
