Most new home business owners begin their business in a predictable fashion. If you’re like me, you had a were all excited because you believe you will just have to contact your friends and family to build your business. Not only can you share an awesome new product with them and introduce the opportunity for earning a lot of money with their own home business but you will have the opportunity to get in touch with some old friends. Touching base with old friends is always fun.

Once you get several rejections, friends who don’t show up even though promising they’d be there, losing several friends and you figure out this isn’t as much fun as you thought. You want to quit trying to sell to your friends and family but you don’t want to give up on your dream either. wouldn’t it be less painful to learn how to effectively build a home business using the Internet?

It’s only logical, especially considering the potential of the Internet. My thought about it was, “Wow, why keep trying to push this stuff on my friends and family who are not interested when there are millions out there that are searching the Internet for what I have?” Why not figure out how to get people who want my product or opportunity to get in touch with me?

Most folks have 3 problems with that. There was 4 for me. The additional problem for me was I couldn’t type and had never used a computer. But that didn’t stop me because I could see the potential of using the Internet to build a home business. The 3 problems I saw were: the same business building methods most sponsors teach (calling or getting in touch with all your “friends” and introducing your product and opportunity) that you tried offline don’t work online either, it can be expensive to advertise your business online, and if you could afford it you don’t know how to compete and be economical with all veterans out there.

When building a home business, it is more important to sign up the right people than just signing up as many as you can. If you sign up people who not ready for your opportunity it is an enormous waste of your energy because they will drop out. The secret to effectively building a home business is having so many people filling up your prospect list that you cannot get to them all. If you have a never ending source of prospects to sort through it will be the most important asset you have. With millions of people online, using the Internet to build a home business is just a natural conclusion if you want success.

But to make this work you will have to learn how to use written words to grab your prospects attention. Then you will have to get them to read your ad, article, press release, blog entry, sales page, social media profile, forum posting, or email. Finally you will have to get them to take action, whether it is to buy something or join you in business or just give you their contact information so you can keep in touch with them until the timing is more suitable for them to buy from you.

Since having enough leads or prospects so you can pick and choose the right ones for your business and building a home business using the Internet will require you to do it with written words, isn’t it logical that the real secret to your success will be decided by the copywriting skills you can learn? It is imperative that you learn how to “sell” with your words. Even if you use videos you still need to learn the right words and phrases that “sell” and how to use them.

Besides the technical skills you will need to learn to build a home business using the internet, all the other things you need to learn like capture pages, list building, affiliate programs, email marketing, advertising, recruiting, and sponsoring will require you to learn the skill of copywriting. The success of your business depends on it.

Dan Lambeth has been teaching others how to build a home business using the Internet for years. He uses an Attraction Marketing system that offers free Internet marketing training and all the sessions are recorded and archived in the members area with the hundreds of hours already there. Members also have access to exclusive members only live recruiting calls complete with Q&A.

This story is re-enacted every day in the home business industry. You may be able to relate to it. Were you introduced to the industry by a friend or relative? Did you decide to join because of the potential of owning your own business and making a lot of money? Were you told you can work part time and succeed by just using your personal contact list of friends and family?

So you hit the phone and pound the pavement and bang on your chest telling everyone within earshot how great your new product is and what a great opportunity you have to share with them. You may have even signed a few people up and made a few bucks but you were rejected a lot more and had to spend more money on your business that you thought you would. You probably also thought you were doing something wrong since so few of the people you thought were perfect for your new business are going for it. You also figure out you will need a different source of leads for your home business if you are ever to build up a paycheck big enough to reach your dreams.

So you get on the social media sites and start building up your list of friends there and sending all of them a link to your company’s site or your company replicated site. For some reason it isn’t working though and you have no idea why because it appears there are thousands of people doing the same thing and why would they be doing it if it didn’t work?

There are a few things right about what you thought and did but there are many things wrong too. The part you got right was the part about what a great opportunity it is to be able to build a home business with a very low investment, the huge potential to make money, and that the Internet is a great tool to use for your business. In fact, it is crucial to use the Internet if you want to build a home business in a short period of time.

The problem nearly everyone has and the secret to success when it comes to building a home business using the Internet is they don’t ever learn the one skill that is the most important. They learn how to open accounts with Google and WRITE ads. They learn how to open accounts with social media sites and WRITE out a profile. They learn how to start building a list and WRITE emails for their autoresponder. They WRITE articles and submit them online.

There are a lot of people attempting to do all of that writing and have never considered how much more effective they could be if they just had some basic copywriting skills. What makes it a perfect match to use the Internet to build a home business is the ability to reach thousands or tens of thousands of people every day and deliver the same presentation perfectly the way you have crafted it to be delivered.

Selling is not for everyone and as a matter of fact most people actually hate it. But even if you loved it you could not give the same perfect presentation to as many people you can physically stand in front of as you could online. How in the world could you when your message can go out all day every day even when you are asleep?

Anyone who is trying to build a home business on the Internet will need to take some lessons in copywriting if they hope to have any chance of success. This is an investment in yourself you can’t do without if you expect to use the Internet to build a home business which will require you to be very good with your choice of words and phrases. The fate of your business rests on it.
