A couple of weeks ago we were at church and the preacher started her lesson and up pops the “All You Need Is Love” album cover, by the Beatles.
At first I was a little unsure about where she was going to go with this lesson. The sermon goes on and the pastor is quoting some scriptures about how love has more definitions than just romantic and erotic meanings. She begins to tell us a story about the type of love that the scriptures are talking about, which is unconditional and limited only to yourself.
The pastor begins to tell a story about a widowed man:
A women gets home from work one afternoon to find out that her next door neighbor’s wife had just died at the hospital the night before. She decides to make some brownies for the old man next door, as is customary in the area of the country she lives in. Some time goes by and and the brownies are finished baking and the mother calls her young son to take the brownies to the man next door. The son heads out across the yard to the neighbors. Almost 2 hours go by and the mother is starting to worry that something has happened to her son since he hasn’t returned. She decides to go and look for him and finds her son in the arms of the old widow sitting on the front porch in a rocking chair. She gets within seeing distance and notices that her son and the man are very upset and crying. Hastily the mother asks her son what the problem is. Her son turns to her and says “There is nothing wrong mother, I am helping him in his mourning.”
The point of the story is that people can truly love when they feel other peoples emotions as if they where their own feelings. The story and meaning behind this really touched me and brought some new meaning to me and how this applies to not just mlm success, but success in life in general.
What is the gauge that society measures success by? Money, Cars, Downline members, or the size of your house? Maybe, but true success is found when you love the prospects and people you come in contact with enough that their feelings and pains are like your own. This is the single largest item to experiencing success that most people miss out on because they are focused on the material things and selling. The people that focus on these things and not the people will never be successful.
How do you currently interact with people, is this the main thing that is holding you back from experiencing MLM success? Are you involved with your contacts enough that you know what their greatest pains and ills are? Or are focusing on selling them something, anything? If this is your motivation, you will never truly succeed in life or business!
The network marketing, mlm, and home business markets are all about the people. Do you think the people really care about seeing the same headlines they have seen a hundred times (i.e. Join Me I can Show You How To Get 200 Leads A Day) or listening to the same worn out systems explained 1,000 different ways? Do you who are writing those headlines actually think anyone will even take you seriously?
Become a leader and you will attract more people than you can handle. Take a real interest in how people are feeling and you will more problems handling the amount of leads coming to you than you will experiencing MLM success. Zig Zigglar said it best, “You will get all you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want!
