Melaleuca has been in business for 25 years; Yes, a Network Marketing company that has thrived for nearly 3 decades. This is extremely rare for this kind of company in this day and age. Usually, at least 90% of the time, MLM companies never make it past 3 to 5 years. It’s CEO is Frank Vandersloot, and it has annual sales of nearly $950 million. For anyone looking for safety and stability in a company, and everyone should be, Melaleuca is no doubt one to be considered.
Melaleuca creates, manufactures, and then markets over three hundred wellness products for the home and family. These are products we use every day with extremely high safety standards, health, and wellness in mind. Renew Intensive Skin Therapy, for example, is by far the most effective lotion on the market for treating dry skin and Eczema. Two independent double blind studies were conducted by Hilltop Research pitting Renew against Eucerin, the #1 doctor endorsed lotion. The study showed clearly that Renew was longer lasting and provided faster relief of dry skin and Eczema and was clearly the better lotion.
Melaleuca’s Ecosense cleaning products clean the home just as well as any department store brands with one catch, they are safer and way more concentrated. This means you get more bang for the buck. Ecosense cleaning products are also non-caustic and contain no ammonia or bleach. The idea is to simply switch stores. They’re not asking you to spend more loot, just buy the products you buy anyway from your local grocery store from Melaleuca instead. By changing where you buy you’ll get a better quality product that is safer for you, your family, the environment, and you’ll spend less too. Sounds good to me.
The compensation plan is pretty straight forward. There are two types of income: monthly residual income and advancement income or bonuses. There are four major advancement levels: Director, Senior Director, Executive Director, and Corporate Director with 9 steps between each promotion. Additionally, $400 then $1000 are the car bonuses. Of all the research I did, I found no indication of exactly how much money you earn per level and read nothing about any type of fast start bonus that puts more money in the pocket of new distributors more quickly. If you ask me, this causes distributors to get discouraged and quit long before they reap the rewards of true residual income. I also could not figure out whether Melaleuca uses a binary plan or not, but I’m assuming it’s a straight uni-level compensation plan, which is preferable to most binary plans anyway. I often wonder why some companies don’t disclose more about their pay plans until you’re actually in.
If I was considering Melaleuca, with what I know about the industry, I would have concern about the lack of up-front money. New people need cash in their pockets fast. In my opinion, this is very important and essential factor when it comes to the success new networkers.
So what’s the verdict? well, although I don’t love the pay plan, Melaleuca is a solid company and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a stable company with a good reputation. If you are considering joining Melaleuca, make sure you know how to market your business and consider the costs and expenses of doing so. Remember, without upfront bonuses of some kind to get you through the early tough times, you’ll need to learn how to create large numbers of your own leads. Chasing family, approaching your friends, or making a list of everyone you know is just old school and is the wrong way to go about MLM these days. It’s much easier to have people chasing you, not the other way around.
